Finding property in Landes, Aquitaine

The Landes has the largest cultivated forest in Europe – generally flat, with some hilliness in the south. The department is perfect for outdoor recreation, and the Parc Naturel Régional des Landes de Gascogne in the north of the department will help to preserve the area's ecological balance for the future. Travel in Landes

• Roads - arrow-straight main roads make travelling across the department fairly easy. The N124 is a quick dual-carriageway link between Dax and Mont-de-Marsan. One of the main routes from Spain to Northern Europe, much beloved of large trucks, is the N10/A63 through the western part of the Landes.
• TGV - from Dax the TGV runs to Bordeaux, Hendaye, Pau and Tarbes.
• Corail - from Mont-de-Marsan to Bordeaux and Toulouse
• TER - from Mont-de-Marsan to Dax/Bayonne, Bordeaux, Marmande, Agen, Pau
